LET'S GET IT IN PEOPLE
The Electric City (Scranton, PA) was once known for exciting, ambitious, and innovative ideas in
the coal industry as well as early rail transportation in the early to mid 1900’s. Here in the new
millennium once again we see The Electric City showing the same exciting and innovative ideas
that led the way to success in the past.. This time it’s in the music and entertainment field, due
largely (to pun intended) to the efforts of Marco Matis. In 1988 in Scranton (The Electric City) Pa
unknown to most arrived a child with great dreams and goals. Seemingly from birth Marco Matis
loved the hip-hop culture, music, and fashion. From listening to artists such as Biggie Smalls,
NAS, Big Pun it inspired him to his true love, music. While attending West Scranton high school he
was the funny, chubby kid that kept everyone laughing, it was here he was given the nick name
KOOLAiD. However even then you could tell there was a something special about Marco
(KOOLAiD) Matis it was his determination, work ethic and loyalty. , Traits that is uncommon in
todays up and coming artists.
Since that time KOOLAiD has be steadily moving forward to his dream of being a Professional
Recording Artists. On 11/20/11 he will be releasing his 6th mixed tape titled “The Take Over” on
KOOLAiD’s own label Platinum Dime Records. This is his most passionate work to date, the disc is
driven by his local fans favorite song “Up’s & Down’s” featuring local artist Royal. To promote the
CD he will be performing 12/03/11 at the “Street Kings” event in the Ramada Inn located in
Hazleton, PA. In addition he will be performing in Philadelphia at the Rain Lounge on 12/09/11.
Also the video for the song “UP’s & DN’s is currently up and being received well via youtube.com.
KOOLAiD has over 50 live performances and 5 previous mixed CD efforts to his credit. Below is a
brief listing of both:

Mix Tape Credits: Performance Credits:
1.) America Struggle Vol.’s 1-5 Club Natrix, Philadelphia
2.) Go Hard or Go Home The Rain Lounge, New York
3.) Back to The Block The Peach Ballroom, Atlanta
4.) Keys to the City, (Electric City) The Castle, Scranton
5.) The Take Over The Irish Wolf Pub, Scranton

With KOOLAiD’s drive, determination, and focus he is poised to reach his short term goals of
expanding his fan base, producing his own beats and rhythms’, and honing his rapping
technique. KOOLAiD’s long term goal is to become a successful artist and entrepreneur. Once that
is accomplished he looks forward to reaching back to his roots to show love, support, and
appreciation to the people who had faith in him from the beginning. That would be first and
foremost his mom and family. The following quote best describe the man behind the music. ““live
each day to the fullest, so you don’t die with regret”.
